This is a fineliner study of an Indian elephant skull, I wanted to capture the rough and bumpy nature of the object without spending too long worrying about fine details with a pencil. I really enjoyed observational drawing in the discovery centre as it gave us a huge array of unique and interesting objects to translate. I also thought as I was looking at the skull that I could understand why ancient cultures may have found skulls like this and theorise that they came from mythical creatures like Cyclops. I hope to go back to the discovery centre for further research as the objects themselves started to give me interesting ideas in just the hour we were in there.
